Previous President Olusegun Obasanjo has cautioned the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu to be vigilant, expressing a portion of his allies are not aiding him.
He named a portion of Tinubu’s allies as foes.
Obasanjo who offered the comments in response to a portion of the assertions credited to him on his gathering with Tinubu, said the meeting was more selfless than political.
In a proclamation by Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Saturday, the previous president said the explanations coming from those professing to be allies of Tinubu are pointless.
“Those professing to be insiders at the gathering giving proclamation on the conversation and those crediting to me explanation I had not made are adversaries of the guest and are not generally helping the visit.”
Review that Obasanjo and Tinubu met away from plain view for three hours however would not address the press after the gathering.
The people who went with Tinubu included two previous legislative leaders of the state, Olusegun Osoba and Gbenga Daniel; previous break public executive of APC, Bisi Akande; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; trailblazer Chairman of the EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
Gbajabiamila had told writers in Lagos that Obasanjo offered empowering expressions about Tinubu’s yearning and, surprisingly, petitioned God for the APC official competitor.
He added that Obasanjo guaranteed Tinubu of triumph at the surveys.
