SERAP to sue FG, Governor Udom over sentence of common freedoms advisor

 

Financial Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) said it will sue Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state President Muhammadu Buhari-drove central government over the sentence of basic liberties legal counselor, Ihibehe Effiong.

The gathering made this revelation in a proclamation gave by means of its confirmed Twitter handle on Wednesday.

The assertion peruses, “We’re suing Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Buhari organization over the unlawful confinement of basic freedoms legal advisor Inibehe Effiong, and the obvious abuse of the equity framework.”

Review that the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Ekaette Obot had condemned Effiong to one-month in jail.

Preceding his sentence, Effiong was taking care of a case for his client under the watchful eye of Justice Obot’s court in Uyo.

Effiong guaranteed in a tweet that he was condemned to Uyo jail by Justice Obot for shielding Leo Ekpenyong in a slander suit recorded by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Equity Obot in past procedures had requested court authorities to hold onto telephones from journalists and others in the court for a brief time.
